Possible Quality Control issues with ZTE Axon 7

Pros:
beautiful screen and overall a nice phone, got headphones with pre order. and am excited about the prospects of a new flagship phone.

Cons:

Camera stopped functioning today, it was delivered at 4:10pm July 27th, it is now 5:05am July 28th as i write this. Customer service is closed and i've already gone through wiping the cache, formatting and factory resetting the phone. removing my sim card and SD card.

formatting again, clearing the cache on the camera app
then resetting the phone and clearing the cache and reinstalling.

i even went so far as to stop google from recovering my downloads from the playstore to be on the safe side and insure that the phone was completely stock out of the box.

and i got "Unable to connect to camera,Camera has been disabled because of security policies or is being used by other apps" the phone and the flashlight are not functioning. and installing 3rd party camera apps doesn't fix the issue.

Will follow up if ZTE is able to give repair steps that don't result in mailing my phone back to newegg.

Other Thoughts:

Would not recommend to anyone at this current time, as this same issue plagued another phone of ZTE's called the ZTE max and seems to have followed to their newest flagship
if anyone has a fix for this sort of issue please let me know otherwise ill do a write up based on what ZTE provides to me later on today

Headphone Output Quality

I'm coming from a Oneplus One a much better phone for music than my poor old Galaxy S2. How does the Oneplus 3 do compared to its predecessor's? Is it loud, undistorted, have a good range in its built-in DAC for the 3.5mm Jack?

Thanks-

JJ

Why is snapchat video quality so bad?

Videos look so pixelated that you can barely see what is happening in them. I've had a quick search and people are saying it's just a problem with snapchat on android, but it always looked great on my S6.

Any idea why this is?

Significant quality control and customer service issues

It's not my intent to be vindictive or petty, but I feel it's appropriate to relate my experience to anyone who might consider this device. I also acknowledge that my experience is anecdotal and not representative of every purchase.

I had to return the first one because it shut off and died spontaneously after a few days.
I had the second one for several months and then the screen went defective - the right side began freezing, it increased over the course of a day or so, and finally it became unusable. Many times it wouldn't even turn on. I've determined that it's not software. Something apparently came loose inside. When I applied light pressure around the screen it would work again for a few minutes and then the problem would gradually return.
I returned the second one and received a third. The screen shut off after one hour. Now I have two defective devices and Google will not ship me another until they receive one of the previous units. (That sounds reasonable enough except when a defective unit is replaced with a defective unit.)
Both the second and third units had the dingy yellow effect along one edge of the screen. I've read that it's the glue they use.

I like the tablet, but I regret not purchasing something available from a local store like Best Buy where I could replace a defective unit the same day. The value of the specifications are offset by not having a working unit. I'm doing Google's quality control for them at my own expense. I've unboxed and used plenty of tablets and I've never seen anything that dies over and over like this. Given that the average life of these units has been measured in days I have little confidence that the final working replacement will live far beyond its warranty.

Limited quality screen protectors...

Ok, I'm done with these dumb glass screen protectors. I've tried like 3 different brands and they all have problems. I currently have the pleson one, but it doesn't stick to the screen properly and degrades responsiveness. And does anybody notice how incredibly cheap brands there are for this phones accessories??? Lol. Anyway, I'm going back to my regular style of protectors....the glass ones are too thick and I don't like them. So my real question, has anybody tried the IQ shields?

Build quality / home button

Hi everyone,

since I have heard something about build quality issues, I wanted to ask you guys and see if these issues just concern very few phones or whether these are actually widespread problems.
So, can all of you HTC 10 owners please check and answer these questions:
  1. Did your phone come with scratches on the display or the aluminium part out of the box?

  2. Is the home button loose/or moving somehow if you apply pressure? (I know it is a capacitive button, but I read that some said it is somehow loose when being used sometimes)

  3. Is the home button prone to scratches or abrasions from permanent usage?

Thank you very much for helping me guys! I really want this phone, but am afraid of these build quality issues.

Quality chargers and cables

I just got my note 4, it's awesome.

I am looking for some high quality chargers and cables, both car and house outlets. Few questions to.

Does the charger require a certain grade cable?

Can I use the charger and cable for other micro USB devices (other non-fast charge androids & vapes.)?

I'm also looking for a high quality leather wallet case.

I need slot of cables, my gf loves to move and break them, so I want to put a cable at every outlet in the house so she doesn't need to lol. I need at least 10, 3ft, may be 1 6ft.

Edit: high quality is a must, I don't mind spending, but if they break in a few months I might as well but gas station junk.

Poor image quality

Hello,

I'm new to Android HU.
I have bought a MTCC-KLD6-V2.91, RK3188, 1024x600, running stock Android 5.1.1.
Image quality is not good, it's like a very compressed JPEG, with noise around text, poor gradients/shadows on movies.
Is that normal for this type of HU. Do you know what can cause this?

Attached is an example taken when using Play Store, highlights in the noise.

360 Cam image quality

Considering the resolution being used im suprised how poor the sensor is? It handles low light shockingly bad.
Noise is insane and its a shame.

Also theres no ability to edit the 360 image that i have found thus far, it needs to be flattened into a jpeg and that obviously defeats the purpose,

So anyone with any advice please can you discuss your experience?

VERY bad image quality from rear camera - faulty?

Hello guys
Yesterday, I rooted and flashed my 610 with cm11 rom. The same day I removed back battery cover and replaced battery.
Today I found out that my rear phone camera has very bad quality. Photos are gross. The rear camera has now circa the same image quality as the front camera.
I already tried factory reset, and also tried to flash CM12 rom. The result was the same.

What do you think that that happend? It is software or hardware related? Did I somehow managed to physically damage the camera lens when I was removing the battery? It is possible to damage camera, while it still performing but with bad image quality?

I added some attachments.
First one is rear camera, the second one is front camera for comparison, and third is rear camera from the outside.
If you zoom it, you can see huge compression.

Thank you

Build Quality and warranty?

So I'd like to start off with how much I absolutely LOVE my XZ3+, and that It is by far my favorite device I have ever owned or seen, usually I go threw them like hotcakes.
But unfortunately, 6 months in and my device is experiencing some trouble. On the left hand side the screen is starting to yellow, and sony said they'd replace it for free regardless of warranty status assuming it wasn't due to misuse such as squishing it or being in the heat.
Well, I'm pretty sure I didn't squish it and it's getting worse over time so, no one incident happened, and I never go outside so... honestly though it does kind of look like a finger indentation exactly where I hold the phone., and I don't use the case as I am a firm believer in using my device naked. Like why would you buy an expensive, beautiful new shiny phone and then cover it up, effectively hiding it from the world and all the admirers.

So the warranty repair would take a minimum of fourteen days. That's a long time to go without my phone. Should I send it in for repair/replacement or just buy a new phone.
I wish the Xperia Z line wasn't dead, I'd gladly buy a new one instead but since it is and I don't really like the X line, I might be moving to samsung and have to put up with the stupid bottom button.

Advice, suggestions, anyone else experience a similar issue or having to do with warranty, your input would be greatly appreciated :)

Audio recording quality

Hi there, just some real life experience.
yesterday I was at a reggae concert (the skints from UK...check them out) with very high bass volume. but generally there was a good powerful sound. So I took some video with my beloved ONYX. I was together with a friend of mine that took some videos using an iPhone 6.
SO.
MY video-> completely distorted sound. I mean you cannot hear anything but a distorted sound. terrible. really terrible
My friend video: perfect. no distortion at all clean and crisp sound.

I know the iPhone is THE flagship phone so every spec is at its top. but: do you think is possible to add some sort of frequency cut by software to our 1+X?

CM Camera Quality & Dash Charger with CM ROM

Hello today i got my OP3 and loving it :o. But I'm not oxygen OS fan.Im a CM fan.So as i've seen some post that CM camera worry is low than Oxygen OS camera quality..And alos i know that dash carger doesn't work on CM based ROM.But using dash charge for CM based ROM is not a bad thing right. So my question are
1 Is OOS camera qulity is higher than CM? I mean if it is,are there any huge quality difference?
2 Does it okay to use dash charger on CM based ROM ?

Note5 - Poor Call quality

I got a Note 5 (locked to a local provider). After two weeks of usage, I am experiencing a few issues. These are:

- The voice quality (during calls only) at my end is not great. Its kind of heavy as if the speaker is blocked with something. Note: The audio quality when playing songs is satisfactory.
- On some occasions when I make a call, the call goes through but the person at the other end wont hear me but I can hear him. I have to disconnect and dial back.
- Camera laggy. I have clicked around 500 pictures in about 2 weeks.

I am a bit confused that it is a provider related issue or a device issue. It will be great if forum members can provide me some pointers and help me fix these issues.

Note: The device is with Telus (in Canada) running android 5.1.1

Quality issue with Oneplus official tempered glass screen protector

Hey guys just wanted to give a heads up about the oneplus official tempered glass screen protector.

I don't know if others are as irritated by it but the screen protector stops short of covering the screen on all sides. I mean its so bad that the edge runs across the screen viewing surface on both sides. I did put in a complaint, maybe they will resolve it. I did order a Orzrly screen protector but canada post is on strike so I'm stuck with this irritating screen protector for a while. I don't seem to be allowed to link to pictures though.

YouTube app 480p quality max?

Why is my YouTube app SUDDENLY only showing 480p quality as the maximum option? This did not happen before as I can stream in 1440p maybe last week.

I have the H860N on v10d firmware. Is there any way I can report this to Google?
