Google Hangouts extreme lag.

Anyone having issues with Google hangouts crashing and having lots of lag? It seems like with every update it gets worse.

I use hangouts for sms/mms and obviously hangouts messaging. It's also tied into my Google voice account. Lately I've noticed tremendous amounts of lag while typing messages. Sometimes the keyboard will be a full sentence behind. Sometimes the app just freezes and crashes.

I've tried wiping data and cache, uninstalling and reinstalling and I've also tried archiving messages to where I only have a ha foul of active conversations. I've tried different keyboards (SwiftKey, Google keyboard, Samsung keyboard) to fix the typing lag but nothing has foxed it.


My Sprint Note 5 is rooted and running MOAR Rom 4.0.

Any one have any suggestions to fix this problem?

Not updating google hangouts?

So as some of you may have heard, google is removing the ability to merge hangouts and sms messages, for better or for worse. My question is will hangouts eventually stop working if i break its link to the playstore and never update the app, keeping the feature

Tab Pro 8.4 - Google Hangouts issue

I am on the latest nightly but i notice Hangouts crashes every time i go to use it. As soon as i start typing it crashes.

Anyone have a similar issue?

When will hangouts improve?!?

I love my s7e to bits but one thing which I miss dearly after parting with my iPhone is the ability to have good quality video calls. Seems it can't be done with android.
Tried every option - hangouts is no worse or better than the rest. Whether you can see each other and hear a complete sentence is hit and miss. Facetime is decades ahead - why? It's outrageous that no effort seems to be put into upping the game. Thinking of getting a cheap iPhone just for facetime. Daft but the only way.
Werent there talks about improving the quality of hangouts?
