Will "adopting" my SD card as internal storage cause issues installing roms?

I am currently running a custom rom and am constantly running out of space on my Moto X Pure 16GB, even though I don't have that many apps installed. If I adopt my SD card as internal storage, will this prevent me from installing new roms in the future, or make it difficult/impossible? I can't really find any information on how the process would be different.

Verizon M8 ROMs

Will the ROMs listed in the standard M8 category work on carrier specific M8s? I have a Verizon M8 so can I only flash the ROMs listed under the "Verizon M8" category? Thanks!

camera quality on custom roms

Iam really liking the camera on oxygen os but wish to shift on RR or dirty unicorn but read that camera not that good on custom roms yet due old kernel n unreleased source for camera
can anyone give correct info on this and if moving onto custom make me sacrifice camera quality?

Cant flash Roms

Hello guys,

first sry for my english i´m from germany^^.
so recently i tried to flash a new rom on my OnePlus 2 A2001. This didn´t worked for me and i bricked my devices. so i started to flash the original Oxygen 3.0.2 with stock recovery etc. with the qualcomm programm and it worked. then i unlocked bootloader, flashed twrp 3.0.2-2 and then i rooted.
So then i tried to flash a new rom. With ervery Rom Im getting status 7. Alright then i deleted the asserts in the rom but i even get this error. not even to delete the updater-script worked for me.
So actually overall i cant flash any rom and i need help.

So I want to get into android developing really heavily and want to make things from complete scratch.things such as custom recoveries and custom roms. I want to know where to start.

Cant flash some ROMS on Sprint S5

I just got an S5 with OG1 BUILD. Twrp recovery 3.0.2-2

Im having issues flashing roms. MOAR 7.0 gets to the aroma installer part n reboots. Nothing more. Cm13 gives error 7 code.

Im finding it difficult to find just exactly what roms the sprint S5 can run. I find a few but its kunda scattered. (Am i missing that section?)

Resurection Remix flashed just fine btw.

backup custom roms

how to take backup of custom cm12.1 based rom for galaxy grand 2 . I want to install new ROM on my mobile so I HV done a backup of my old cm 12.1 ROM .now when I restore my backup, it says application error sometimes Google play service not responding

For those with fingerprint and battery issues on custom roms.

So some newer devices have been shipped with different components from the older ones and while everything works fine on recent miui versions, most custom roms have issues. So I'm creating this thread to document all the issues caused by these new components and any solutions to them in one thread. Please reply if you have any other issues caused by the new hardware or any solutions to them.

Fingerprint

Description:

• Option to add fingerprints doesn't appear even after setting pin, pattern or password on non miui based roms.

Cause:
Some devices have a new fingerprint sensor manufactured by Goodix which is not yet supported by non miui based roms.

Solutions:

• miui and any miui based roms such as xiaomi.eu should still work fine.


• Wait for CM to add support for the new hardware to its source code.

Battery

Description:

• Battery is stuck at either -2% or 50%.


• TWRP does not show battery percentage at all or constantly shows 50%.

Cause:
Possibly new battery controller hardware or an issue in the CM code which causes this issue on most newer roms.

Solutions:

• miui and other miui based roms such as xiaomi.eu should be fine.


• Mokee works fine.


• Unofficial Ressurrection Remix works fine up until the 06/08 build.

If you know of any other issues caused by newer hardware or solutions please tell me so that I can add it to this thread.

How to I install custom ROMs on the Nexus 5X?

Like I remember reading something about flashing factory images first them installing the ROM, I'm getting confused coming from an LG G3. On G3 it was just root, flash TWRP, then flash ROM of choice. But with Nexus 5X it's a lot more complicated. Can someone give me a detailed way of properly flashing a custom ROM?

Building and installing ROMs for HTC

Hi, please let me know if this should me moved to another section.

I am coming from Samsung phones, and building and installing ROMs for them. I got an HTC A9 a while back and I am having cyanogenmod withdrawals lol. I have the Sprint model so there doesn't seem to be any compatible builds, please let me know if I am wrong.

So basically I am breaking my dev shoes back out and going to attempt to build a CM ROM for the Sprint A9, but some things around still confuse me for HTC. I already have S-Off and unlocked bootloader, running a rooted stock image. But I am not sure I fully understand this RUU stuff? Also, if anyone else could fill in the blanks for me regarding differences between working with samsung vs htc. I already know you can't use Odin, that was one thing I really hated about samsung anyway, I am far more comfortable using fastboot lol. But any advice would be appreciated.

Dual Sim not working on any of the custom roms

I am currently on latest build of RR(official) and trying to use two sims (one Reliance JIO and other is Airtel 4G) but getting network coverage only in one sim whichever I set as default for data. If i set airtel as default data sim then only airtel sim will get signal and if JIO selected then only it will get network.
No service in other sim, even tried searching for network but getting an error "Error while searching for network", so not able to use dual sim on RR or any other custom rom.
I tried the same thing with MIUI and both the sims are working fine.
Does anybody has an idea how to fix that and use dual sim in custom roms.

Android N ROM for Huawei P9 just leaked and it looks awesome. I don't think that we'll receive 7.0 oficially, but we got a fairly active modding community. My question is, how possible it will be to port this (or P9 Lite's) ROM to our phone?

N920P on Sprint sucks... cant find working roms... want xposed

Is it just me or is there a real lack of working custom roms for Marshmallow N920P Note 5s? I don't even really want a custom mod... but been trying for days to get xposed going on my note and it doesn't want to run on the rooted stock rom (CF Auto Root). I have tried several different roms and can't get anything going. I also can't find anything that SPECIFICALLY states compatibility with N920P, just a couple roms where developers say it "should" run. But alas, been trying for 3 days now and still cant get a working custom rom or any help just to get xposed running...

Any suggestions?

Changing ROMs - Backing Up Google Music Files?

If I am switching ROMs, is there any way to backup and then restore my Google Play Music files?

I have nearly 40GB of playlists etc and would really prefer not to have to redownload them each time. Is there a way to backup a specific folder and then restore it after flashing the new ROM?

I understand they are DRM protected. I don't want to add them to my computer or anything, I just want to avoid the headahce of trying to DL 40gb of data on a very slow connection.

[Q] [Nook HD+] Can't install any new roms.

I have a Nook HD+ 32GB here with cyanoboot bootloader and have EMMC CWM-Based recovery v6.0.4.6 installed, but I haven't been able to flash CM11, CM13/AOSP, or the stock image; I've only been able to flash CWM and have only been able to boot into recovery with the TF card removed.

It had TWRP installed before, but it doing the same thing and kept erroring out on the /system partition, stating that it couldn't read it or something, while CWM doesn't throw any errors. help?

Why can't some of you install custom ROMs

There are a few reasons why can't some people out there just go and install a custom ROM, here are a few:

1. You are not rooted

This should be clear, you have to have root, I can't even see a way of installing a custom ROM without root. You can search for a guide on XDA Devs to help you.

2. You flashed your ROM the wrong way

Even though there are a few ways of flashing a ROM, only some of them are correct. You can't use Flashify for a ROM, trust me you'll only get into trouble. You can't and you should not try to flash a ROM through Odin, remember, Odin is only used to flash Stock ROMS, yes, you can maybe flash a ROM trought Odin if you knew how to convert your ROM to system images and then pack it up to a .tar.md5 file.

3. Your ROM zip may be corrupted

Double check if your ROM zip is the right size and check if you can open it via WinRAR or 7Zip.

4. You flashed a ROM for a wrong model

With Samsung devices, there will be the F, the I, the A and all the others. If you have an F and flash a ROM for an A, your device will not work. Also, some people don't see the 5 in SM-G925 although they have a G920, so their ROM will work fine, but the touch sides will be inverted.

5. Your proccessor isn't compatibile

I don't know if this is true, but my friend now lives in America, so he has a Galaxy S6 Snapdragon model and I have a Exynos model. This could be a potential problem, but I don't really think.
