Battery performance is really poor for Oneplus One

Hello Experts,

My Battery is draining like crazy. I tried almost everything to figure out what is the issue but could not figure out. Below are the details I gathered from the things I tried.

My battery started draining almost 30 % overnight. Initially I thought it was due to the Unofficial Marshmallow Rom, I could see Wi-Fi to be cause of this drain. Hence I tried different Roms (Cyanogen Mod, PA, DarkObas, Sultan ROM, and stock Cyanogen OS ( Past 3 versions, including latest one). but the battery drain didn't stop.

So I decided to flash PA rom again, installed OpenGapps PICO (Only Google play service nothing else). I installed CPU spy and left it over night in Airplane mode. When I checked in the morning (after 7 hours) battery drain was of 25 %. This was surprising as nothing was running on my phone and only the minimum apps were installed. At this time, CPU spy showed no abnormal wake locks and was in Deep Sleep for almost 93% of the total time. The stock battery usage showed only Mobile Stand by and usage of 50 mAh.

Can you please help me figure out what is causing the battery drain.

Poor Signal With New Motherboard & ROM

My old D850's SIM card reader died, so I just switched to a new one. In the process, I thought I'd try out a new ROM and switched to Fulmics 5.3 MM

Now my signal is shot. I'm getting two bars on average, around -107 dBM on LTE and about the same HSPA. I'm in NYC, in my bedroom that used to have plenty of reception, by an open window, high up in an apartment building

As I need to use this new motherboard, I tried switching all of the other parts in from my old phone –*the screen, backcase, midframe, signal cable, etc. etc. Still the same results

I'm about to try flashing stock Lolipop, or maybe the nandroid backup of my old phone onto this new one

Any thoughts as to what else I might try to fix this?

Poor signal since new firmware

For some time now (After flashing OOS3 with new firmware) I have bad signal on my Oneplus2 and I guess that's the reason my battery is draining fast.

Recently I flashed this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/onep...-twrp-t3371583
But it made no difference.

I made two screenshots recently. One from OxygenOS 3.0.2 (rooted) and one from HalogenOS 0.3-beta (rooted)
http://imgur.com/a/tKrpA

As you can see. Both the signals show an orange bar.

I'm from the Netherlands (Europe) and tried to change preferred network type, apn etc but that didn't work out.
Then I entered phone info (*#*#4636#*#*) and I saw I only have USA bands in my radio band chooser. See image below:
http://imgur.com/a/6aPIZ

That's not normal is it? I have 4g/lte connection. but it's very unstable. My model number is A2003.

Hopefully someone can help me out :)

Poor image quality

Hello,

I'm new to Android HU.
I have bought a MTCC-KLD6-V2.91, RK3188, 1024x600, running stock Android 5.1.1.
Image quality is not good, it's like a very compressed JPEG, with noise around text, poor gradients/shadows on movies.
Is that normal for this type of HU. Do you know what can cause this?

Attached is an example taken when using Play Store, highlights in the noise.

Poor Data and Cell Reception S5

I have an S5 that when next to 3 other phones in my house receives no signal (data or cell). I have to walk completely outside and its still spotty. Could it have bad antennas? and if so is it just the wire antennas or is there another piece that receives signals?

Past history: stopped using this phone probably 8-12 months ago because of this problem and now just did a factory reboot and re register on the network. and up until the factory reboot the phone wouldn't even register itself on any network or connect to any service even though it showed signal bars. It would either start to make a call and long pause and hang up or just go straight to an "emergency calls only" pop up. When looking on the about phone and status page there wee no registration on the status page.

Note5 - Poor Call quality

I got a Note 5 (locked to a local provider). After two weeks of usage, I am experiencing a few issues. These are:

- The voice quality (during calls only) at my end is not great. Its kind of heavy as if the speaker is blocked with something. Note: The audio quality when playing songs is satisfactory.
- On some occasions when I make a call, the call goes through but the person at the other end wont hear me but I can hear him. I have to disconnect and dial back.
- Camera laggy. I have clicked around 500 pictures in about 2 weeks.

I am a bit confused that it is a provider related issue or a device issue. It will be great if forum members can provide me some pointers and help me fix these issues.

Note: The device is with Telus (in Canada) running android 5.1.1

Joying JY-UL135 Poor Radio Reception

Anyone else have poor radio reception with the Joying JL-UL135? Previous radios in my 2001 Suburban picked up local stations just fine. This one has a hard time picking up even local stations. I double checked my antenna connections and even bought an amplified antenna. No change. In fact, the radio reception is exactly the same weather the antenna cable is plugged into the back of the radio or not. Is it possible the radio antenna port is not connected internally to the radio?

For reference, this is my radio:

[GPS][FIX] Low GPS signal? No signal indoors? Poor accuracy? Long lock? GPS HW Mod

Hi, this is my first major thread / tutorial here on G3 Troubleshooting. I was having issues with GPS since I replaced the entire housing to replace the touchscreen and display so I figured it was an hardware problem.

This is meant for you if you've tried all kinds of roms / kernels and still aren't getting decent GPS reception.
I am not responsible if you damage your own phone by doing something stupid. Do as I say at your own risk. Stop reading if you don't understand this.

The main part responsible for GPS reception on the G3 is the little board that serves as an antenna on the lower part of the phone, left of the usb port.

Start by disassembling your phone following any popular guide on youtube. Stop when the main board is fully removed.

Now, you should see this antenna board fully exposed. It's very tiny and fit snuggly onto the housing with glue tape underneath.

Your goal now is to remove this gently with a thin plastic pry tool. Try to find a spot where you can pry it, the one with most surface area to minimize chance of further damage to the board.

After you removed it, salvage the sticky glue tape, you'll need it later.

Now get some tinfoil. Fold it several times over itself and compress it until you get a strip of the width and length*1.5 of the board size approximately, so there's a few centimeters left over.

Now see this? imgur / wveT6R2 this is the underside of it. Make sure the tinfoil is making contact with the gold metal bit, the one exposed shaped like a semi-ring, route the strip from that point up until the middle of the board and then do a vertical angle (90º) pointing UP, apply the glue sticky stuff on the frame of the phone (spot where the board goes) place the board with the routed tinfoil superimposed as explained. It should stick to the frame and you should now have a bit of tinfoil strip angling out of there. Route the strip vertically and horizontally (making 90º angles) as you find corners to form a "zig zag" pattern THIS little square space: imgur / 2a2h5e5 is where you should be routing it. This should form an extra antenna that makes contact with the antenna board, thus boosting your GPS signal. Don't forget to secure the foil with electrical tape (tiny bits as possible). Assemble the Phone back together (trace steps backwards) and boot. Run GPS Test. Be Amazed

It took 2 attempts to find the perfect solution, my first attempt at this idea did not work out in a very substantial improvement, but after reopening the phone and opting for the bigger strip and zig zag pattern, it REALLY made a difference.

MY RESULTS

Indoors:
Before - No fix / No signals | After - 6 satellites with medium SNR and a fix after 5 seconds; Acc: 10m

Outdoors:
Before - Fix after 10 seconds / losing signal while in a car or cities with big buildings | After: Fix in 3 seconds; 10+ satellites; acc: 3m best, 4-5m average

This was MY EXPERIENCE. I really believe that if your antenna for one reason or another is going flaky, this should at least improve it.
I learned a lot from this, but take this with a grain of salt, results may vary.
Sorry for the lack of images, I had to strip some of the imgur links because I can't post images yet.

Thanks for reading and hope you get good results (don't touch anything else) :D

How to improve poor notifications

I'm on the latest Marshmallow (v6.0.1) for the Xperia Z3 (D6603) and the only thing I don't like about it are the LED notifications. When I get an email, text etc the tiny little led flashes limply about once every 3 seconds so you have to stare at it for a while to see if you have a message. If it flashed on and off once or twice per second you could glance at it and find out; as it is you might as well just press the power button and look (and wake it up).

Additionally, pressing the power button and discovering there's a notification seems to stop the LED flashing (until the next message turns up) even though you've not read the message. IE the notification might just say "1 email" but not display who sent it, the subject etc, but as far as the notification system is concerned you've just waved the LED flashing away.

I've gone through the settings a few times and looked at 1) notifications generally, 2) permissions per app, 3) the apps themselves but there don't seem to be any obvious settings to govern this behaviour. I'm not desperate to root my phone or buy apps which drain the battery etc; i'm just wondering if there's some option somewhere to make the notifications a little more persistent and obvious.

Poor Wifi Connectivity

I have a K1 with the latest Shield SW and the wifi is horrible. It barely stays connected to the 2.4ghz and will not connect to 5ghz at all. I've tried changing channels on the router and nothing changed. Any tips or is this common on these?

Poor battery life after Wear 2.0 Preview Fix

SUCCESS!
I am on the non-preview firmware. I've been using the watch for the last 2 1/2 day and there is still 30% battery left.
It looks like the total battery life would be 3 1/2 day.
Here is what I did:
1. (Thanks cardsbea.. @gmail.com) Main thing, drain the battery to complete 0%.
(optionally) After reaching 0%, the watch shuts down, to drain the battery even more, I waited a few hours and kept the crown pressed for a few minutes every 15 minutes. Or leave the watch discharged over night.

2. Something was fixed in Google Play: 9.2.56

3. On the phone: Settings/Storage & USB/Internal storage/Clear Cached Data (it looks like it also improved phone performance - less heat)

4. May fix some BT/WiFi issues: cycle Airplane mode on the phone and the watch once a while (turn ON, wait 1 minute, turn OFF). It looks like the Airplane mode resets the radios in a special way.

Poor quality icons in Google Play

Hello. I'm using LG L90 D405N with Cyanogenmod 13 Nightly from 1.07
There seems to be some issue with images in Google Play. These look like compressed jpgs. Not only icons, but also background pictures on application pages. I attached a screenshot to show you what it looks like. I don't know when this happen. On previous nightly (from May i think) it also occured. Do anybody know how to fix this?

Poor battery life

Yesterday I bought a zenfone2 z00a and flashed it with cm13 but the battery life is extremely poor. The phone went from 100% to 0 in two hours(on the 3g network, no bluetooth active and such). Then i flashed resurrection remix, the battery life improved but it's still poor compared to my last phone(Gionee elife s plus).
Anyone else has this kind of problem?
