Does this root method look viable?

Hey, guys. I got a lg-g5 canadian will bell and model is h831. i found this to root

but since im new to rooting idk if itll work or is good method. do u think itll work? also is rooting lg-g5 worth it at the moment and what is the downside with lg-g5 root?

Shedun trojan as a viable option for root?

I am unable to post links here. The information is on the short wikipedia page dedicated to Shedun.

Based on the wikipedia article it seems to be a fairly easy process to acquire Shedun and it claims to auto root the infected device. Is it viable to infect my device with the virus and then later flash a custom rom to remove it?
I haven't found any other posts on the subject so my apologies if this has already been asked. Samsung s6 edge plus with verizon carrier.
