Uh Oh protection?

I was wondering if anyone here has used the uh oh protection?
If so, how long did it take to receive your phone?
I'm currently having problems with HTC
Called them up almost 2 weeks ago, I chose that credit card hold option, and I have yet to receive any info
I called them up today and they said they don't have any phones in stock to ship out

Huawei T1-701u /system write protection

Hi guys,

I am using a Huawei T1-701u. I can consistently get root using iovyroot. I have added all the firmwares I can find and created a pull request.

There seems to be some sort of protection on the system partition however. This manifests in two ways. Firstly changes to the partition are magically reverted on reboot. Secondly, I sometimes get an error when mounting /system as rw saying it is readonly.

I have some scripts up on GitHub: /chrisfraser/HuaweiRoot (Sorry you have to search. This is my first post:o). This eventually works, but it is indeterminate. Sometimes it works first time. Other times it can take 20 tries. Below is the important remount code.

Code:

install_perm() {
    cat >
    chown 0.0
    chmod 755
}

echo '[*] Starting root install'

mount -o rw,remount /system
setenforce 0

install_perm $BIN/su /system/xbin/su
install_perm $BIN/su /system/xbin/daemonsu

install_perm $BIN/install-recovery.sh /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
ln -s /system/etc/install-recovery.sh /system/bin/install-recovery.sh

mount -o ro,remount /system
sync
echo '[*] Root install complete, rebooting'
sleep 5
reboot

Thanks in advance

Uh oh protection for an S-OFF device

Woke up this morning to find that my phone fell of my nightstand and cracked sometime in the night.

It's S-OFF. Can I still use Uh Oh Protection on it?

password protection on boot? (before! download/recovery mode)

Hi
I want to lock my phone, not only password protected system and encrytion of my data/files , I want that a thief will get mad and have no fun with it
=> For that (only) a password boot protection against download mode and recovery mode is the way.
Seems to me that this function is missing ?!

True?

Cimo [Shockproof] Case Heavy Duty Shock Absorbing Dual Layer Protection Cover for Mic

Just received the Cimo case and it fits great and looks like a good deal of protection. It also works with my Note 3 and LG V10 Seidio Holster, this seems to my like a good option since none of the major case makers have jumped aboard the 950 XL train.

Eyesight Protection

Yeah, just a quick question: does anyone know of a way, or if it's possible, to activate the Eyesight Protection feature that appears in the EMUI webpage? Or is it EMUI 4.1 exclusive? It would be a nice thing to have

Wrong PIN - Please enter the Privacy Protection password to unlock

My new P9000 seemed to be working fine until I put in the SIM card, at which point I got this "Wrong PIN - Please enter the Privacy Protection password to unlock".

This is an indication that it's network locked, right?

What do I need to do to be able to use this phone? I'm a complete noob when it comes to flashing phones, ROMs, etc. Are there any fairly basic step by step instructions I can follow?

Factory reset protection

Hi all!
I was wondering how is factory reset protection working on the OP3. If the phone is unlocked, does it ask for the Google Account's password once you go to "Backup & Restore" and select a factory reset? I think this has become a standard by now, but I just want to make sure.
Also, what about factory reset from bootloader? Is it possible to factory reset the phone WITHOUT connecting it to a pc? I know it is totally possible to do it via fastboot commands, but I want to know if it's possible to reset it cable-free.

If my phone is stolen, I'll be glad to know the thief must be at least a little savvy in order to use/resell it.
