An Xposed module to remap bottom hardware buttons ?

Hi,

I've bought several Android devices and since 2014 I really hate how the multitasking button replaced the menu button.
I just want to bring the menu button back and bring the multitasking section by long-pressing the home button, I really don't care about the Google Search functions.
The problem is, the phones I bought don't have any on-screen buttons and I really don't want to add a bottom panel for that.

I also know that GravityBox may be the Xposed module which can do that, but since it mostly applies to AOSP-based ROMs, I'm affraid of having conflicts with my phones' stock ROMs (Zenfone Selfie -ZE551KL- on Marshmallow).
Some apps that I found in the internet are quite old -pre 2014-, making them surely unsuitable for Android Lollipop and above.

So the question is: Is there any Xposed module -or even an app !- that can remap the bottom hardware buttons without conflicts ?

Any way to remap HDMI-CEC buttons?

I have a Samsung TV and I want to use my TV remote to control Shield TV (over HDMI-CEC). This mostly works with one inconvenient problem. Android Back button is mapped to Samsung Exit button. Regular Samsung remotes have Return and Exit buttons and if you are using this remote then it's ok. But higher end Samsung TVs have Samsung smart remote and it only has Return button. The Return button also works as a Exit button if you hold it down for 2 seconds, but that's really inconvenient.

For me it would make a lot more sense if the Android Back button would be mapped to Samsung Return button and if possible then Android Home to Samsung Exit.

I have no idea why or who (Google, Nvidia or Samsung?) mapped the buttons as they are, but it is not usable for me. So is there any chance we can remap HDMI-CEC buttons?

[How-To] REMAP CAPACITIVE BUTTONS ON GALAXY S6 [ROOT]

HOW TO REMAP CAPACITIVE BUTTONS ON GALAXY S6

If you're left handed like me, then you might wanna remap your capacitive buttons if you use the back key more often than the multitask button.
You can remap many other buttons such as volume keys and the power button, just use some logic and you'll figure it out.
As we progress on, you'll realize that there are many more things you can remap other than the physical buttons.

!!!DISCLAIMER!!!

I'm not responsible if this doesn't work for you!

!!!DISCLAIMER!!!

1. You'll need root access for this, otherwise it won't let you edit the file
2. Go to Play Store and download the app called Total Commander (you can use any other file manager that supports root, but this one worked best for me)
3. Open the app, and go to File system root
4. Go to data folder and when it asks you, grant it the permissions
5. Go back and go to the system folder, then to the usr folder and then to the keylayout folder
6. Long press on the Generic.kl file and click on Open as, then on Text and then select Totalcmd Editor
7. Now click on the magnifying glass icon without an arrow in the top right corner
8. Search for the word BACK, but select the Whole Words checkbox
9. Change it to APP_SWITCH (make sure it's capitalized!)
10. Search again for the word MENU and change it to BACK (there may be two MENU words in the file so search twice)
11. Search for the word APP_SWITCH and change it to BACK
12. Click on the Floppy disk icon on the top of the window and then click OK
13. Exit and close the application
14. Reboot your device and enjoy!

Remap buttons on Navigation bar on CM 13 CAF

I can change or remap buttons on CM 13 CAF. When I go to buttons and layout, press change and tap on a button nothing happens. How can I assign a new action to my Home button for example?
