DAC, USB sound cards and Note 4

Yesterday, just out of curiosity, tried to plug in my PC headset to the Note 4. The headset is a Creative Tactic 3D sigma, an average to low-end headset with an equally low-end external USB card. So, I plugged a USB OTG adapter on the phone, then the external USB to the adapter and then the headphones. It worked! The sound was far worse than the phone's, low volume and very "empty", but the thing is that itw worked.
So, it got me thinking what would happen, if I had a better external USB card. Would this be a viable option, compared to an external DAC? Has anybody else tried something like that?

Automatically changing sound mode

Guys need help. Two days ago I manage to make my S7 to use vibration mode when he recognize my house. Now I cant remember how I did it. I just remember that google maps was on and over it phone recognize my place and turn vibration mode ON. Can anyone help about this one?

Help needed. Redmi note 3 snapdragon no sound

Hye. Need someone expert on this. My device got problem on sounds. This happens when i plug in 3.5mm audio jack to my speaker. Suddenly my device reboot loop on mi logo. Flash RR custom rom and its booting but cannot call or play any sound from audio file or video. Already flash with miflash also no luck. Just reboot loop on mi logo. Battery consumption also going crazy. Less than 5 hours without doing anything. And fevice feel warm always.

Sound problems

Hello,

I have a problem with my Android Unit. After a while, the sound on the left side is loosing quality and even disappears completely. You can make a better image of the problem by watching the video from here: http://bit.ly/2aoBbqy . All the info about the unit is in the video.

Observations I've made:
- the problem is probably related to heat
- the problem only happens when playing music from youtube, soundcloud or other similar app
- when playing a CD or listening to radio there are no problems.

G4 Making Unlock Sound Play Full Length

Hello,
One thing I always play with while rooted are system ui sounds, especially lock/unlock sounds. I have been wondering for the longest time if there is some way to make the unlock sound play it's full length, rather than only about a second. (i.e. circlemosaic_unlock, hulahoops_unlock) The thing is, the locking sound (i.e. hulahoops_lock) plays for as long as the sound file is.. or at least multiple seconds longer than the unlock sound.
I have never had a "touchdown" sound longer than a second, so I'm not sure how long that one plays, but any insight/help would be so much appreciated.
(I would finally be able to let the engine roar in my Jaguar F-Type lockscreen pack!) :p

Question about some sound mod for 6.0.1 M4 Aqua

Hello , i want to ask something , when the "v3 sound mod" have been working perfectly on m4 device , since update to 6.0.1 android , the mobile phone is now very silent , any clues or mods to make phone on 6.0.1 much louder ? like soundmod v3 ?

Sound problem when calling solved by custom ROM?

My friend has a problem with his galaxy s4 active. His microphone and speaker work perfectly when testing with music and audio recording. But when calling someone the speaker is dead silent and the other person can't hear him. I saw a bunch of threads where they reheat the audio IC and so on. He is running android 5.0.1. Now my question is: is this a software problem and can it be fixed by flashing CM? Thanks for any and all replies.

Edit: If you're wondering I know how to flash custom ROMs and have a lot of experience doing that.

Sound bug when playing games?

I've been playing Fallout Shelter and Pokémon Go a lot lately and I noticed that if I have the sound on and I receive a notification, the in-game sound mutes. I'm not able to turn the sound back on without completely exiting and closing the app in the Recents screen. Does anyone else have this problem? It doesn't matter if it's a text, email, etc. Sound dies.

No sound on stock

Lately I've been having an issue with the stock rom, where randomly throughout the day the phone will stop playing notification tones or any music. Google play music(and any other music app) just simply won't play anything at all until I reboot it. I don't have this problem on AOSP, the speakers work fine but have other non-related speaker issues.

Any ideas? I really like stock, and I love AOSP but one of the issues I've been having with AOSP makes stock seem more reliable except for the no sound issue.

TLDR; phone stops playing any music, or notification tones. Plays certain notification tones fine though

other end low sound in viber

hi there, i,m experiencing peculiar type of problem in my redmi 3 pro. while making a viber call, the other end always complain about low sound, even they have full ear piece vplume on their's. But, its fine with other apps link messenger and imo. Its fine with regular gsm call as well. Is that due to low mic gain for internet calls? if it was the case, then messenger and imo should also have the same problem. i'm just confused.

Sound crackle

I got my phone a couple of months ago and everything was going great until today. I was listening music in my car using the auxiliary cable and I started to hear a cracking sound, so I changed the song, the same, tried another cable same result in cd and radio everything seems fine at any volume level. Got home and tried some headphones but being the small size of could only hear some crackle at full volume, so I tried the original ones about the same story... Using the headphones I can't really tell if the crackle is present... ????
So has anyone had this problem or do you have any idea how to check it out?
As I bought it straight from htc.com uk, do you know anything about the warranty as I'm thinking sending it back to them...

No Sound by Music Apps

I have seriouse teoubles palying music on Krexus + Radonkernel. Playmusic and Napster wont play to speaker. BT is working asnit should. But Headphones wont play too. Video sound is correctly routed to internal speaker. So whats wrong with music???! Do I have to install some DSP or edit some Build.prob lines to get it working?!!

Gestures and Input - sound settings?

Hey guys,

My problem: I have an S7 edge, and the case that I got for it makes it a pain to use the volume buttons.

My solution: Use nova launcher prime to set a gesture to open volume settings.

I cannot find any way to get to the volume settings using the nova launcher. There are A TON activities you can go to, but I can only find "sound and notifications", which is ok for now, but still have to click "volume" afterwards. With so many options, I am sure there is a way to pull this off, curious if any of you lads have had any luck with this sort of thing.

[help] Headset constantly plays sound of microphone

Hello all,

Whenever I plug in a wired headphone I can hear the sound of the headset microphone. It's very annoying, especially when walking and it's windy.

Is there any known issue that would be causing this? Any troubleshooting steps?

I'm on rooted stock, headset is a rha MA750i.

Odd Sound Settings Behavior

Hi - wanted to share my experience with the s7, particularly the sound (media) performance.

Got the S7 (duos) last week, rooted, and pretty much happy with the snappy device (and I like the camera much).

What I've noticed so far (and not happy with these) are: bluetooth connection issues (too many related posts here and everywhere else so I won't add my rant) and the sound settings not staying put.

Here's my sound settings experience -
1. If I set up (Settings/Sounds and Vibration/Sound Quality and effects) and tweak the settings to my liking - equalizer custom, surround on, concert hall on, and adapt sound personalized, the resulting output to my bluetooth and wired speakers are acceptable (lower volume than I prefer but I can manage)
2. That sound set up will mysteriously disappear although the settings do not change (i.e. the switches and equalizer settings are as I've set them) and the only way I get them back is to toggle the settings.

Very odd. I've never experienced this before (I've had a GS2, GS4, a note 8) and a Sony Z5 (selling).

Has anyone else experienced this and what was your fix?

Sound issues - Cutting out

Hi guys,

I got a new S7 due to breaking the screen on my last one and I seem to be experiencing some strange issues with audio.

In pokemon go for example, sometimes the sound effects will be normal, other times only part of the sounds will play. YouTube seems to often play 5 seconds of a video with audio before it just cuts out.

I haven't been able to identify any consistency and if I click through random apps and go back to YouTube, sometimes the audio will be fine again.

Never had this issue before. Has anybody experienced this?
