Downgrade after upgrading to Android 6 - knox tripping? G900F

Hello!

Sadly my G5 ist broken and I have to send it to a reprair center.
The center has the habit to upgrade any phone they receive to the newest firmware

My G5 was delivered with Lollipop - I downgraded to 4 to use Towelroot.

So my question - if they force me to Android 6, is it possible to downgrade without tripping knox?

It's a G900F btw :)

Thanks in advance!

Best Greetings!

Trying to unbrick Samsung Galaxy S5 G900F, keep getting "FAIL! (Size)"

Hi, sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, it's really late here.

So, basically what happened was I was trying to root my phone which I accomplished and then I tried to install Xposed but when I tried to update it - it wouldn't let me so I had to install the Zip files for it which I forgot. I couldn't update Xposed as it was grayed out. So, I used a program from the Google play store which I forgot the name of fire-something? and then it got stuck on bootup samsung screen and I couldn't get it off. I then looked online and you had to reinstall database to un-brick it. I've been trying to do that with Odin3 ver. 3.09 but it keeps failing with FAIL(SIZE) error and I don't know to fix it.

This it the file i've been trying to use to fix it: G900FXXS1CPG2_G900FVFR1CPF1_VOD

Thanks

modem bootloader g900f ?

hi can someone please explain about modem and bootloader flashing.
If my s5 (g900f) is rooted and i have installed twrp 3.0.0.0 and on last stock mm rom, do i need to flash modem and bootloader when want to try some other rom for g900f or example miui rom? how that goes?

G900-F: Used TWRP to install xposed framework, now stuck on logo screen

I used TWRP to install xposed framework v86. I clicked the reboot now button after flashing it. My phone was stuck on the logo screen for 40minutes before I took out the battery. Now whenever I turn it on its just stuck on that screen. I also flashed SuperSU before but my phone worked perfectly fine after that. I'm completely clueless so any help would be appreciated! My S5 runs on Marshmallow (6.0.1). I've seen people mention reactivation lock and mine says off when in the downloading screen if that helps at all

Flashing G900P Firmware on G900F Device

Hi! I've been using CM13 for my device until recently when I decided that I would like to go back to the stock samsung ROM. Having decided, I've tried to flash the SM-G900F firmware through Odin but it didn't work; I've tried 4 different firmware packages from different countries and android versions, yet they all resulted in failure. My phone is currently soft-bricked with access to (stock-samsung) recovery and download mode.

I've noticed, however, that on the back label, my device is the SM-G900F, but in download mode, it reads SM-G900P. I figured that maybe the Odin flashes were failing because my device is actually the G900P. I was wondering if I could try flash the G900P firmware through Odin, but I'm hesistant. If the flashing fails, will my device be hard-bricked?

G900F Boots straight into Odin Mode. Soft Brick help needed pls

Hi, I'm stuck. I've soft bricked my G900F. Can someone help me restore it please?

When I turn the phone on, without selecting Download mode, it goes straight to it, and displays the following message
"Firmware upgrage encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again"

When I connect it to my computer with Odin open in administrator mode, it is recognised by Odin.

I have visited samknows and samsung-updates, but I don't know which one I'm supposed to download.
I'm in the UK and ideally want stock unbranded firmware, or something to get it working again.

So far, each firmware I have downloaded and then used Odin to flash the S5 has failed.

Please can someone help? Thanks in advance :)

What custom ROM should I use on my G900F?

I've been installing custom ROMs on my G900F device for several times and I cannot decide which ROM should I use as my daily driver. I love vanilla android and Cyanogenmod 13 is the kind of ROM I've been looking for. But I just can't exactly decide if I should keep using it or what. So I keep switching ROMs such as:

• CM13
• Resurrection Remix
• SmallWiz v6.1 S7 ROM
• PureGoogle (This is one of the best ROMs I've used so far because of the Vanilla Android UI but the SD card can't be read and lockscreen does not work)
• Samperia (I also like this ROM because I find Xperia's UI really good, but again, SD card can't be read, too)

But I still go back to the original G900F firmware I downloaded from Sammobile, and then install a custom ROM again. I reached out to the developer of PureGoogle and Samperia for a fix but i was told to back-up my SD card files and format it in the ROM and then put the files back to the SD card. I have a 64GB card and it has 53GB of data stored in it. And you all know that it takes a lot of time just to transfer that large amount of data to a computer and then put it back to the SD card. I don't have a whole day to do this. And I know I may end up with a bricked phone but I just can't decide which is which. If you have a G900F device and you're using a Custom ROM, can you tell me the ROM you're using as your daily driver? A friendly and kind suggestion will greatly help.

Need Help With Rooting G900F 6.0.1

Hello, this is my first post.

Introduction
So today & yesterday I tried rooting my stock ROM, Android M 6.0.1 G900F Galaxy S5 but I've had a few problems with it.

Details
I think I've done everything correctly to try to flash TWRP onto my phone:
  • Downloading the lastest version of TWRP-klte (I've used 3.0.2-1 & 3.0.2-2)

  • Unticking 'Auto-Reboot' in Odin (I've used Odin3_v3.09 & Odin3_v3.10.6)

  • Pull out the battery to get out of download mode, etc.

But nothing seems to work. When I go into download mode it tells me:

Code:

ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SM-G900F
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
REACTIVATION LOCK: OFF
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x0

QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE (CSB)
RP SWREV: S1, T1, R1, A1, P1

SECURE DOWNLOAD: ENABLE
UDC START

To my understanding I find it weird that it says my Current Binary and my System Status say 'Custom' but my KNOX is still 0x0.
Now, of course before I tried to flash TWRP it said I my Current Binary and my System Status said 'Official'.

What I Think Is The Problem
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the problem is that UDC START part in the download mode.
I've read online that some people get that when their phone is in a bootloop but I have no problem with my phone.

Conclusion
In conclusion I think that the problem may be resolved by factory restoring my phone, but if you have any other ideas, please reply to this thread.

Thanks. :)

Paranoid Android for our G900F?

Hi guys and girls,

Is there someone who can port the latest PA (they are alive!) to our g900F? I ever prefered PA and want it again on my "new" phone. But the official supported phones list does not list samsung devices (for what reason? ;))

Would be happy if my phone gets their rom. Hope that others want it, too..

So, thank you for reading :)

G900F after update touch not work

Hi I have samsung G900F. Recently received information about an update to android 6 and today I made the update. The update went correctly, phone was turned on correctly, and everything was working but when you update the hard warms up. To quickly returned to more normal temperatures turned off it and put down for about 15 minutes. When cooled turned it back on and it turned out that it does not operate the touch panel. I did wipe but unfortunately it did not help. After 1 hour I turned on phone and touch was working normaly about 5 minutes. After few minutes again didn't working. What could be the reason?
