How To Enable Download Booster?

Hey! I saw that older Samsung phones as well as other variants of the S7 have an option called Download Booster. I Have a G930P with the G930U firmware flashed and not rooted. I can't find the option, anyone know how to enable it?

[ROOT] Whatsapp Trick: How to enable some hidden feature

Hello everyone,
I am writing to share a few tricks that I have found to enable the following functions in Whatsapp:
- Video calls
- Group's invite links
- Two steps authentication in Whatsapp Web.
First of all you need the latest version of WhatsApp Beta (for example, I use the 2.16.213) and a root explorer.
You have to open the root explorer and edit the file com.whatsapp_preferences.xml inside /data/data/com.whatsapp.
You need to add the followings lines inside <map></map>:

Code:

<boolean name="group_invites" value="true" />
<boolean name="video_call" value="true" />
<boolean name="video_calling" value="true" />
<boolean name="two_factor_auth" value="true" />

Then save and force close Whatsapp from the list of applications on your phone and you are done: you unlockee the hidden features!
I hope this guide has been helpful, and I apologize for my bad English (I'm Italian).
PS: Currently you can only unlock the graphics of video calls, because the servers to which they connect are still down.

Enable wifi calling on tmobile

I'm using a Verizon branded s6 and aside from the steady bars I use to have everything seems to function properly I'm curious is it possible to enable wifi calling on this phone? Everything I place a call I drop from 4glte to 3g side note what's this video calling thing I see ? I don't know if it's samsung or Verizon only.

[Q] Is it possible to enable Wi-Fi Calling with root?

I purchased a Vodafone branded S7 Edge through Carphone Warehouse and after much torturous twoing a throwing with their customer service have now been told that I can't get wifi calling as my phone wasn't purchased directly from them.
They have enabled Wifi Calling for me on my tariff but I can't even see the option to switch it on when I go to settings/ application/ phone. The only option I can see open to me (as I can't get a signal at my house) is to root the phone to try and enable the feature but wasn't sure if this is possible?

Any help or advise appreciated.

[APP] UI Tuner Enable [root]

UI Tuner Enable enables the System UI Tuner on the HTC One A9 (and maybe some other devices). It requires root (but not s-off) and does not modify any system frameworks.

The System UI Tuner on the A9 is buggy (maybe that's why HTC didn't include it): it crashes if you try to add a new tile. To work around this, the UI Tuner Enable includes a functioning add tile function.

UI Tuner Enable is free and open source.

Binaries in Google Play.
Source in github.

Enjoy!

Does anyone know to enable 1080p @60 fps ?

Hello, does anyone know if this is implemented in a ROM or if there's a mod available to enable 1080p 60fps recording ? I barely found out about this just before i decided to purchase the 10 and found it odd due to the fact that the M8 can do 1080p @60:rolleyes :roll eyes: . Is there a way a request can be made or something ?

Enable 3G AWS band, possible?

Hi guys,

Sorry if this was answered in another place, but I was unsure.

I was looking info about unlocking 3G bands and I ended up with this:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...ds-to-t2886059

OP says that it may work with other phones so why not?

I did most steps, the only "issue" that I had was that I didn't have a diag mode item in Device Manager on Windows., only "LGE Phone Serial bla bla bla"

So, I added a new port in QPST Configuration using the COM3 (the one that was using the Serial LGE item) and I could read info from the phone but this is the weird part: Everything in UMTS system is checked, but if that were the case I wouldn't have the need to enable AWS on 3G.

Anyone did have success enablign 3G bands on VS980? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

MultiUser Enable for LG G4 (H-811) T-Mobile [MM]

This Tweak Requires a Rooted LG G4 with a root explorer installed ( Recommended is FX File Explorer ) because it does not mess up with file permissions.
Please do it on your own risk, make a backup before messing up with your phone. I am not responsible if anything goes wrong.
The Tweak will probably work for other variants as well ( Sprint / Verizon / Korean / Dual Sim ) but not guarantee.

The Multi user feature is enabled by default in Europe Open Units but sadly the company disables it in other variants of different regions. So by applying a little tweak into your build prop you can enable it back.
Since most of us really like this feature so i searched for it and found a thread related to Lollipop for same feature. I implemented and it worked for me. So i thought i might share it for people like us who does not want others to mess up our settings.

1- Rooted Phone
2- Root Explorer
3- Edit Build.prop ( Found in system folder )
4- Add below lines.

Code:

fw.show_multiuserui=1
fw.max_users=5

5- Save build.prop and set permission 0644.
6- Reboot device and done.

No need to edit the Framework like in previous versions of android as by adding these lines everything will be enabled, Animation settings etc.

Guide-How to enable double tap to wake and wake gestures on P9 Lite

Hi guys,

this is a guide how you can enable double tap to wake and wake gestures (Camera, Music,..., or custom apps) on your P9 Lite.
Somehow Huawei left the options in the system root, but made in invisible in the settings (same with many other Huawei devices). This is the same method others used for the P9.
All you need is:
-rooted device
(for rooting my device I followed this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/huaw...-root-t3405701
the only thing I did different for getting SU working, was that I installed the root with the SRK-Tool and then I installed the mentioned SU-Update zip file)
-A file explorer with root access
-text editor app (I used the QuickEdit from the Playstore)

Even if this workaround worked 100% and without any problems on my device (rooted VNS-L31 on B100), your doing it on your own risk!

Step 1: Enter the file explorer and go to the root directory. Open the system folder and look for the build.prop file.

Step 2: Open the build.prop with the texteditor and search for the line ro.config.hw_easywakeup=false, now change the "false" into a "true" and save/exit the file. Just open it a again to ensure the entry has been realy changed and saved.

Step 3: Now go to the directory system/emui/base/xml, ther you open the file hw_easywakeupmotion_config.xml with the editor.

Step 4: Search for the line "EasyWakeupMotion name="Double_Touch" support="1" value="0" flag="0" keycode="131"" and change the value=0 into value=1. Again save and exit the file and ensure that it has been really changed.

Step 5: Restart your device and go into settings menu-->smart assistance-->motion controle. Now there are the options double tap and wake gestures available. You could also change the apps which are related to the different wake gestures. After activating it should be working right away. Otherwise do another restart and it should be good.

Hope everthing is working for you...I tested it now for some days and with some cases where I had to tap the display three times to wake up it worked flawlessly. There is also NO additional battery drain caused by the feature.

How to enable usb debugging on a bricked phone

Hello,

I have a LG G4, which bought last year, but a couple of days ago while playing Pokemon GO it shut down and went into a bootloop. I need help in RECOVERING MY DATA. I am not sure if USB Debugging is the answer to recover my files. So far, I have tried going into Recovery and Download mode but it doesn't work. I have taken the SIM card and Memory card out. I have pressed all of the buttons on boot and it only showed me the IMEI display. I tried plugging my phone into my computer but it only charges and not read it.

Is there anyway to recover my files and not void the warranty? I have ordered a replacement for it from my service provider. However, before I surrender the old one I would like to know if I can recover or at least delete the files. I really hope that someone would help me with this problem. :crying:

Thank you in advance,
Liv M.

root Xperia Arc S enable reverse tethering + wifi hotspot that uses it in 10 minutes

How to root Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S and enable reverse tethering + wifi hotspot that uses the reverse tethering in 10 minutes:
I just learned how to do it
took me about 5 hours to learn and succeed, thought I might share it in case someone else might want to try in the future:

guide is only for windows machine, but you can use the sources to do the same with Linux or a Mac
It only requires a few tweaks to drivers installation and terminal code.
Also it might work with other Xperia devices but I can't promise it will, you might want to check sources for in depth look.

Sources:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxF4O5E2RiY&index=10 - how to root Xperia Arc S video
http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Androi...s/td-p/287857- how to root Xperia Arc S
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2287494 - how to enable reverse tethering
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1882852 - how to get your wifi hotspot to share reverse tethering
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2635830 - drivers in case you need them

1) root your device:
in phone:
settings -> applications -> enable "unknown sources"
settings -> applications -> development -> enable USB debugging"
settings -> Sony Ericsson -> connectivity -> USB connection mode -> set to "mass storage mode (MSC) -> OK

Connect your device to windows
Windows should automatically install the required drivers

If in some case it does not, or if you have problems rooting your device
Just install the drivers from this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2635830
If the link is broken in the future I uploaded it to tinyupload:
http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php...73727411836001
Just install the driver that you need
Xperia Arc S actually is actually not listed there, I just installed all the ones that have "s" and "arc" in them
It takes a bit of space so try to not just install all of them

Download the rooting software from
http://www.mediafire.com/download/5r.../Eroot_1.2.exe
Once it downloads activate it
A green windows written in Japanese should pop up
You don't need to understand a bit of what it says
If you see a big green button that says "ROOT" then all is good
If you don't it means some of the steps above were not done correctly
Either you didn't change your phone settings or you don't have the necessary drivers

Press the big green button that says "ROOT"
it should show you a list of 4 things
The 3 first things will change to a V sigh rather quickly
The 4th thing should take a little bit more

Once it's finished you should see a different big green button that says "*SomethingInJapnese*ROOT"
DO NOT PRESS IT
Just exit the program

If you pressed it you need to close the program from the task manager (ctrl+shift+esc in windows 10, ctrl+alt+delete in older windows)

now you phone is rooted :)

2)enable connection sharing in your computer
Go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections
If for some reason it doesn't find the path
Press Start+R, write "ncpa.cpl" (without the quotation marks) and press enter

This is taken from the "how to enable reverse tethering" guide I linked in above, it explains it nicely:
right click on an Internet connection that you have.
I assume that you are using a desktop which doesn't have any wifi adapter, so right click on LAN Ethernet connection with Internet, and select "Properties".
in tab "Sharing" (or "Advanced" for Windows XP), click "Allow other network users to connect through...", then select the USB connection in dropdown list below.
click OK. Windows will automatically setup your USB network connection and assign to it an IP address, default for Windows 7: 192.168.137.1, default for Windows XP: 192.168.0.1.
You can see your Internet connection is now "Shared" and your USB connection is now "Unidentified network".

In case you don't see a dropdown list (like me)
press settings (in the "Sharing" tab) and it will be there
I actually didn't see "USB connection" as an option so I just marked "FTP Server" and "HTTP Server" and it worked for me

Once you press OK it should take some time for your machines to set things up so don't panic if it loads for a minute or so

3)install terminal emulator on your phone
You have 2 options here

1) register your phone with a fake gmail account, download the playstore app (from the market app) and download what you need
it didn't work for me, for some reason even after I registered it said that my account is not connected even though it certainly was
If you want to risk it you may try but for me it was just a waste of time

2) download the apk for the app and install it using the phone built in package installer.

Using your phone browser, go to
https://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/

IF IT POPS UP A REQUEST TO CONTINUE OR CANCEL ALWAYS PRESS CANCEL
it just tries to redirect you to an advertising site, it won't affect your download if you press cancel

copy and paste the link from the Google play store site of the app you want to install
In this case the link is:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...roidterm&hl=en

press "Generate Download Link", I should load a bit and then open a new green button that says "Click here to Download"
(if you don't see it scroll down)
press it and it should start the download.
You can open the file directly by opening the notification bar and pressing on the file that was just download
(notification bar like a drop down curtain, just slide your finger from the top of the screen downwards)
select "Package installer" as the app to open it with and it should install it quickly.

Also for later if you don't have one already installed, install some kind of note app
I just installed this one:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...sy.notes&hl=en

4)
connect your device to your computer
In your phone go to
settings -> wireless&networks -> Tethering & portable hotspot -> enable USB tethering
Wait for it to connect, once it does you can move on

Go to your terminal emulator, write "su" (without the quotation marks) and press enter
What it does is asks the phone to give you "Super User" permissions to change your phone built in settings
Give the app permission to do so.
The sign in the terminal emulator should change from $ to # to indicate that you have Super User permissions

Next, copy those lines to the terminal emulator and press enter
(you might want to save them in your note app before, I'll explain why in a bit)

netcfg usb0 dhcp

ifconfig usb0 192.168.137.2 netmask 255.255.255.0

route add default gw 192.168.137.1 dev usb0

echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward

iptables -t nat -F

iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o usb0 -j MASQUERADE

iptables -P FORWARD ACCEPT

first 3 lines - for reverse tethering
Next 4 lines - for wifi hotspot reverse tethering sharing

couple of notes:
1)if it prints something like "iptables failed strangely: No such file or directory"
just ignore it, it works anyway

2)if you get an error relating to "dhcp" - make sure you enabled "USB tethering" in your device, and that you enabled connection sharing in your computer.

3) if for some reason you have other errors, try replacing "usb0" with "rndis0" in lines 1,2 and 3
not sure if you also need to change the "usb0" in line 6, but if it still gives you an error I didn't describe try chaging that too.

if you did get any errors just copy and paste the code (with the needed changes if any are needed) to the terminal emulator again
remember to do so only in su mode! (# instead of $)
also, save the final version (the version that worked for you) of the code lines in the note app you installed (step 5 explains why)

everything should now work perfectly
reverse tethering should work
and if you want to enable wifi hot spot just go to
settings -> wireless&networks -> Tethering & portable hotspot -> enable Portable WI-Fi hotspot

5)
for me the reverse tethering and wifi hotspot sharing stops working after I reboot the phone
In such a case just
1)connect your phone to your computer
2)in phone: settings -> wireless&networks -> Tethering & portable hotspot -> enable USB tethering
3)go to terminal emulator
4)go to Super User mode (write su and press enter)
3)copy and paste the code you saved from the note app to the terminal emulator and press enter

and it should work again

if you want to connect your phone to another computer, to the exact same steps but remember to enable connection sharing in your computer before!

hope this little guide helped you :)
