Question about kernel

Hello,

I'm building an AOSP 2.3.7 for our device.
I've a question beceause I don't want to brick my device !

I built my ROM with the "kernel" zImage.

I want to test it, so I flashed only ROM but with stock kernel it freezes at SGA2 GT-I8160.

How can I be sure if the boot.img will work ? If it doesn't work, can i access again to download mode ?

S6 Edge Kernel is not Seandroid Enforcing

Hi!
I flashed TWRP with odin, booted into it, then restarted to system and I had bootloop. So i flashed no-verify-opt-encrypt with TWRP, restarted and I have error "Kernel is not Seandroid Enforcing" and I can't boot into system.
I tried to hard reset, flash stock recovery, flash stock rom with odin, but nothing helped.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!! :(

Galaxy S5 Stuck On Splash Screen with Set Warranty Bit: kernel ---please help

First post, So hey everyone :D

So I rooted my phone around 6 months ago with CF Auto Root, everything went fine but i was still on stock ROM. So then i found the Alliance ROM and decided to flash that because it looked cool. I flashed it using FlashFire to ensure I keep root. Everything worked and booted just fine, really smooth and of course it looked awesome. One small problem though, I could not send messages but I could receive them. Probably a SMSC (that was around 3 hours of head ache attempting to fix that) issue or because Straight Talk didn't like my phone using Android 5.0. So then I tried downgrading to Alliance 4.4.2, NOPE. That was the end of my phone :'(

Im now stuck on the Galaxy S5 screen with "Set Warranty Bit: Kernel" in the top right. No idea how to fix it and obviously knox was tripped but that isnt a huge deal to me.

I have tried the following.

1. Tried to reroot (seemed to fix a lot of issues actually)

2. Tried to reflash Alliance ROM android 5.0

3. Multiple cache and system wipes.

4. Installed TWRP through Odin but thats useless because I was dumb and deleted my back up in the system wipe :(

Im currently downloading stock ROM but my hope for that is fading judging that TWRP even stalls out and the phone reboots right when it attempts to flash.

What i have access to:

1. Recovery

2. Download

Is my phone already 6ft under or is it hanging on for dear life?

How to compile a Samsung Kernel from source

Ok folks, I am going to show you how to build a Sammy kernel from source. This will be a very long guide, so I might miss one or two things. But we will solve that if it happens.
Below is a list of requirements that you must have in order to be successful.

REQUIREMENTS

1. For the best outcome, you need to be on Linux. I dont support VM Box
2. All the android dependencies. (Which I will provide)
3. A github account or the like. Its free.
4. Be familiar with terminal commands
5. And have alot of patients

SETTING UP YOUR BUILD ENVIRONMENT

First thing we need to do is set up your build environment. So in order to do this we need to install some packages to make sure your kernel
compiles correctly.... So open a terminal on your desktop, and copy and paste the code into your terminal from below:

Question about Rom + Kernel

Hi Community,
(Sorry about my bad english ;) )

I get my new Galaxy S7 Edge, get root with CF-Root and flash TWRP - READY TO USE

I get install PhoeniX ROM V1.0 with use Stock Kernel.

My Questions is :
- Wifi is ON and 30minute loose 3% Akku (19% -> 30min -> 16%)
After I installl Rom nothing is App installed (Stock Rom)

Maybe I flash other Kernel is Working good?

I present Custom Kernel for Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551 for 4.21.40.61 firmware(Android 6.0.1) only
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for your broken phone , broken memory card, etc. All my kernels I test first on my own phones , and then upload here


Kernel is signed. For install you should have unlocked bootloader which unlock for example if you get root access or install constantly TWRP or if you to flash 6.0.1 beta over 2.20.40.184 with unlocked bootloader. If you don't want to get root access or install constantly TWRP please search on this forum method of unlock bootloader on Android 6.0.1 beta.

Attention!!! If you have root acess after installing my kernel you lose root access. You may to get it one more time.

Don't be afraid print "Your device has failed verification" ,DON'T TOUCH ANY BUTTONS, please simply wait 2-3 sec- and device will start


Features:
1. Touchboost_freq in Interactive gorernor set to 1333 MHz a place of max freq
2. Added Conservative, Powersave, Interactive Pro, Intel governors and I/O scheduler Deadline
3. Processor mode "1 cpu per module" a place of "2 cpus per module" btw each core change frequency independent, not pair
4. KVM support
5. Video card changes:
a) available additional GPU frequencies 106, 133,160,177 MHz btw underclock but I to set min freq 457 MHz same as stock kernel. You may change GPU freq from my Kernel Adiutor version(it lay on google drive with my kernels) or from say99
b)Added additional thermal states. If on 457 MHz have overheating- freq go to 400 MHz, if overheating on 400- go to 355, if hot on 355-go to 320 MHz and so on. In stock kernel if overheating on 457 MHz- processor goes in 200 MHz and was lags in games
6. ZRAM disabled

How to install

Method 1. From PC
1. You should download files for flashing:

2. Download Kernel image and put it to directory with unpacked ADB & fastboot drivers from previous point of this manual

3.You should reboot your phone in the droidboot mode. (turn off you gadget then press Turn off button and volume + button)
4. Then go to the ADB folder and hold Shift + Right Mouse button and write this command:

, where XX.XX- date of kernel
5. Reboot to Android.

Method 2( via TWRP, without PC)
1. Download bootM551-XX.XX.img
2. Go to recovery mode
3. Click Install, choose this bootM551-XX.XX.img, choose boot partition and flash
4. Then reboot

Method 3 If You don't want to install constantly TWRP may also to install via Temporary TWRP
1. Put any TWRP to folder with ADB& fastboot drivers on PC
2. Download bootM551-XX.XX.img to phone
3. Reboot your phone to bootloader
4. Connect your phone to PC
5. Then go to the ADB folder and hold Shift + Right Mouse button and write this command:

6. TWRP started
7. Click Install, choose this bootM551-XX.XX.img, choose boot partition and flash
4. Then reboot

I am considering making a very detailed guide on how to build a Samsung kernel. I'm talking about from A-Z....

But, I want to see who is interested in this first. If it's just 2 people who want to learn then it's a no go. The guide will take me hours to complete if not a couple of days...

I would like to flash & keep TWRP, but the stock kernel causes a bootloop/unbootable state when swiping to allow modifications. Is there any kernel (EPF1 updated supported) for the S6 Flat with dm-verity disabled? My phone is, T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 running 6.0.1, EPF1 Update.

Hello guys! After a few months I decided to look into building a CyanogenMod Kernel for our beloved Note 5.

It is very much a work in progress and any issues should be reported here, please make any backup efs back ups, and nandroids

Link to download cm13 by rainbow dash. Please download this first and then download this kernel... As that is what I am using as my daily driver and if you have random reboots there are ways to fix that. Just report what is making you reboot and I will help you as much as I can. It is still a very beta build!

Camera doesn't work.
Some apps don't work unless you personally remove it's libs and stop them from generating. (eg chomp sms on message send)

Change kernel Boot splash on rooted Stock Rom?

Did anyone know how to change the kernel bootsplash on MM 6.0.1 stock, because when I unpacked the modified stock kernel that I made with Tobias's Tool, replace the "logo.rle" in the "initrd" file, repacked back into new "Boot.img" and flashed, my phone still revert back to the old bootsplash (Eyesore-white colour Sony). It's still on stock bootsplash, did anyone knows why?
