[Q] Strange (hard?) brick

Hi,

After many years of enjoying this magnificent phone the disaster came.
The phone discharged overnight and switched off. In the morning I had to send some texts, so plugged the wall charger into USB socked (a weak one ~500mA), after few moments a charging icon appeared and stated that battery has 1%. Ok, I really had to send those messages: I've pressed the power button and phone started to boot.
Sony logo: OK, purple wave, OK...
After 10-20 seconds it suddenly switched of, red LED started to blink.
I thought: OK, system startup needs a lot of power, maybe a charger is too week to keep up.
So I left phone for few more minutes to charge, but without success.

That was the last time I saw screen was on.

Phone is a C6903, running on a stock, rooted 14.6.A.1.236 with the recent XZRecovery.
Bootloader has been unlocked.

For the moment I've tried everything but opening back and doing the testport-trick.
When I connect the power only red led blinks (I left the phone charging overnight, no change).
When I try to enter flash mode: nothing happens but red blinking light.
When I try to start phone nothing happens at all.

But there is still hope:
I connected the phone to 2A charger using a magnetic cable.
Then I've connected normal USB cable to my PC, strange thing started to happen:
When I pressed volume Up (even after few minutes of connecting power+usb) the phone suddenly jumped to fastboot mode (blue led, it was discovered by PC, fastboot terminal was functional)
When I press power button, phone vibrates for a second, then the led pattern changes to: 1s red followed by 0.1s green, then long red, then it repeats...

I'm still unable to enter any recovery nor flashmode...
I'd really appreciate any help, have you got any ideas left how can I revive my phone?

Hard bricked. Won't charge, PC doesn't recognize

Hard bricked. Found my phone in my car. It's been through the cold and hot weather. It's an old phone, but I would like to revive it.

Won't turn on. Can't charge. I tried a new battery..same applies.

Also, PC and Odin does not recognize it. Any help?

Phone was rooted with AllianceRom. No signs of wear/leaking on the battery. Was working perfectly before I abandoned it...:(

Nexus 5 Hard Brick situation

My Nexus 5 was drained off battery and was not taking charging suddenly. I entered the hard reset mode( power+volume down button) and accidently did a "restart bootloader". Since then my phone has been hard bricked! I cannot enter into recovery mode as well( power + volume down button). But I am sure that if I can get the bootloader running somehow, my phone will be back. I am sure it does not have any grave hardware issues as such. But the maintenance (service) center says , they will need to replace the motherboard, which is too costly for me.

Can anyone give me any pointers of how can I get my phone working again?

External Hard Disk support

I'd like to know if theres any way to support mounting external hard drives to the 1+X
I have a WD passport 1TB
The 1+1 supports it very nicely and since this phone is similar to the 1+1 i think there might be a way to support it by kernel tweaks or something..
I really love to have it working on this phone :)

Seems that a zip files I used to flash had the wrong img file for the bootloader within when flashed. I believe for the nexus 5 instead of 5x. Now no response at all from phone. Is their anything that can be done at this point? any batch files or utilities come about for this as of yet? Thanks!

[HOW-TO] Recover from hard brick QHSUSB_BULK

Save your dead/bricked device! Overall a straightforward process. Simple recovery using SD card to load correct bootloader and be able to ODIN stock firmware.

Successfully performed on a locked bootloader Note 4 from Verizon, using another locked bootloader Note 4 from Verizon. Should be equally possible with other devices as well as the T Flash function does not check the device model, and writes the entire firmware, according to the included or specified PIT file into the SD card.

Requirements:
Secondary Samsung device with working download mode and microSD slot
Odin version appropriate to the firmware version you are trying to install
16+ GB microSD card
Samsung drivers installed on your PC

Steps:
1) Find and download the correct FULL firmware for your device, of the same or newer version than was on the device previously. These are frequently available from AFH, amongst other sites. A "repair firmware" may be sufficient ONLY IF IT INCLUDES ABOOT and BOOT partitions.
2) Download the correct version of Odin for your firmware
3) Open Odin, set up your full firmware into the AP/PDA slot.
4) Tick the T Flash option in the settings.
5) Insert a 16+ GB card into the SD slot on your working Samsung device
6) Boot into download mode, and connect to computer. Ensure the device shows up in Odin. If not, check drivers and restart (and reconfigure) Odin.
7) Start flash. It may fail at a certain point but this is OKAY. As long as the ABOOT and BOOT partitions have flashed, the procedure will work.
8) Remove SD from the working device and insert it into the bricked device.
9) Hold VOLUME DOWN + HOME + POWER, or use a USB jig to enter into download mode on the dead device. It will now magically work, as it reads the partitions from the SD card.
10) Reflash the correct firmware in Odin to the bricked device.

Hope I was able to help. Do note that this will NOT solve issues with your device if it has PHYSICAL eMMC issues (cracked solder balls, bad chip, bad connections, etc, etc).

The "magic" SD card will only work on the device it was intended for. Don't attempt "miracles" by say, trying to boot firmware intended for a different model on your device. That may cause permanent damage, for which I will not be held responsible.

This tutorial should be equally acceptable for other devices. I am posting it here because it worked successfully on my Note 4, and I'm assuming other people here may have the same issue. Originally I tried this on an S5 with heavy motherboard damage, which would only render a download mode screen, but would not flash anything to the device.

Anyone with an interest in making a donation, please contact me for donation info or donate to your charity of choice :)

Most information presented here is publicly available but there was no simple/accurate way detailing the process, so I assumed it would be nice to have all info aggregated in one place.

[HALP] HARD bricked!?

I have a rooted and xposed 820. And on this morning, while I am using my phone to play Pokemon Go, the phone got itself shutted down all of a sudden ( black screen ). And several seconds later it boots up, showing the green "hTC" logo alongside the red words below, and again, several seconds later ALL THE WORDS on the boot screen turned yellow and a second later the screen turned off and it reboots again! This loop has run for 4 times and in the last time I decided to go into TWRP to clear cache and davik cache and hope this will bring it back to life. Well it does make it booting into the system and showing the bootanimation, but in some seconds, it reboot again and the yellow words appear again.

After the last yellow screen appeared I was frustrated and decided to leave it shutted down ( TWRP method ) and try to fire it up later today. Later, I dissemble my phone and reseat the battery, hoping that this will reset some of the parameters inside the phone. But, just when I want to power it up after that, I found that it can be neither power up nor enter recovery. After connecting it to my adb and fastboot-installed desktop computer, it blinks orange LED lights and it CANNOT BE RECOGNIZED AS A DEVICE by my computer in device manager.

Now I am not sure if it is really hard bricked or just any other thing else:confused:

Hard Bricked Galaxy S4

Hey,
I've been trying to install Exposed Framework on my Galaxy S4 and managed to brick it, hard. Can't run recovery mode, download mode, it doesn't connect to my computer and when I try to start it up all it says is Start Up Failed, Device didn't start up successfully. Use Verizon Software Repair Assistant to repair it, but I don't have that nor can I find it anywhere online. I'm by no means technologically illiterate. Is there any way that someone could help?

Hard Bricked my Galaxy S6 G920F

Hello,

I need your help because I'm in real trouble.
Before I hard bricked my phone I was on the latest version of the Tyrannus Rom.
I wanted to install Xposed but I picked the wrong version.
I flashed it but I got a boot loop.

So i've downloaded the latest stock Rom from Sammobile and tried to flash it with Odin.
Odin got an error and f*cked up my download mode.
Now I'm stuck with a bricked phone with no download mode.
I only got this message on the download mode : "Use the emergency recovery function in the smart switch pc software."
Wich I did.

It downloaded the software and tried to install it but got an error at the begining of the instalation after the download.
After that I restarted it and the download mode was working, so I've tried again to install the stock firmware and didn't worked.
This was the error it gived me : "cm sw rev check fail device 4 binary 3"
And now I'm stuck again with no dowload mode. Please help me.

Lg Volt 2 Ls751 HARD BRICK

Hello,

How can I unbrick Lg Volt 2 Ls751 with "qhsusb_bulk"

PlEASE HELP!! Very hard bricked Zenfone 2, no display at all.

Hello every one.
I was running 6.0 beta, but I decided to downgrade to LP (flash ifwi, dnx, splash, droidboot right version). When I downgraded, it stucked at Asus logo. I used xfstk to download, but then it stuck at Usb logo, and I xfstk again. Finally it booted in droidboot but the serial number changed to 0123456789ABCDEF and device name changed to Z00A, while i'm using Z008. I flashed raw with Asus Flash tool, and after 20min I unplugged it as mentioned in this post.. After unplugged its screen immediately turned off forever. (I didnt touch any button). Now it doesn't sign to be charged at all (no orange led), but i think it still charge. Any time I plugged to PC, it always be recognized as Moorfield, and xfstk still flash it, but it always says ".... continuing to OS" (i can't remember all) and loops (Attemp #1 ... Atttempt #n). Now I think it really hard bricked. Can any one help me?:crying: I'm still in warranty so can I send it to service center and will they accept my Z008?:crying: Thanks in advance and I hope some one will help me.

Hard Bricked ALE-L21

Hey guys,

so what I did is I've rooted my P8 Lite and then wanted to install xposed framework. I've done it carefully step by step, but my phone bricked. I then tried to unbrick it via fastboot and stock firmware, but it didn't work (I tried a few versions). Now I can't even enter fastboot mode anymore (power + volume down). The phone just keeps entering the rescue mode which tells me the error. And on top of that the battery is empty, so even if I could enter fastboot mode I probably couldn't install a stock firmware since it gets stuck at 90% with usb connected and without usb the phone doesn't even power up anymore.

I've looked up everything related to this issue and read about twrp recovery causing such problems. Well, didn't know that before. Otherwise I wouldn't have tried this.

Is there any other way left to fix my phone?

screwed my memory i think - not hard bricked but what is this? cant boot

after trying uncesssfully many times to get LVM to work I decided to go back to stock oppo recovery. I saw an option to unify memory in the oppo recovery and clicked that. My screen flashed for 30min with no reboot. I shut it down. This could have where it went wrong.

Now I cant boot into any recovery. Just stays stuck on the oppo logo. i DO have fastboot mode though however and I CAN execute commands via the terminal/cmd prompt.

If I flash twrp, i can see it tries to boot into twrp with a blue flash of a screen but immediately it goes back to the oppo logo and stays there forever.

If I flash oppo recovery again, i can see it tries to go into oppo recovery but then the screen starts flashing bits and pieces of what I can make out as the oppo recovery.

I assume my memory is messed up because i tried to unify memory via the oppo recovery? I cant seem to do the unbrick method here: http://community.oppo.com/en/forum.p...read&tid=23067 as I tried and think my windows 10 comp cant do it. All it sees is "Marshall London Device"

Any way to solve this? Thanks in advance to the pros at XDA!
