Go ahead, burn me to the ground... M9 or 10?

I realize I'm pretty much asking to get flamed here....

Got my HTC 10 in the mail yesterday. Unboxed it - sure is pretty. Powered it on and very quickly encountered truckloads of dissappointment.

I'm coming off the HTC M8, loved that phone for 2 years - but the screen is falling apart (my son hit it with a rock....). I'd heard that the M9 was kind of a bust - and that the 10 was considered to be a major course correction after that.

But I can't stand News Republic managing my BlinkFeed, and I can't stand Picassa managing my photos. And I need my drop down quick settings.

Long story short, if I keep it, I'm definitely going to have to root it and put Viper10 on it.

Thing is, if I'm going to have to go through all the work - why not save 0 and just get an M9? Sure I'd lose some processing power, but I'm pretty sure Viper runs well enough on it and that it would meet my needs for the next two years.

Or would it?

If any of you guys came off the M9 and went to the 10, I'd love to hear your perspective.

Thanks!

Screen burn

The navigation bar seems to be burned into the screen which I thought only happened on amoled panels. I took a screen shot to make sure it wasn't the software. Any ideas?

screen burn in

Has anyone else discovered screen burn in yet? I've had my phone since 12/3/14 and loved every second, except for 5.0.1. ;) Today I noticed, while viewing a mostly white picture, a faint shadow. After a few minutes of playing with my brightness, I saw it's from being on Facebook too much. It's largely unnoticeable. Does anyone have any advice as to how to minimize further burn in? I assume it's normal wear for this phone. I just never saw burn in on a phone before. I'm a heavy user. I charge at least twice a day between work and fun.

Is AMOLED burn in something to worry about?

I use an always on display like the s7s on my oneplus 3 (using the glance plus app). I keep it on even throughout the night. I've read about AMOLED burn in on the web. Is it something to worry about?

This is what the always on screen is like
