Hiding Apps & Using Copy/Paste in Whatsapp

I got my Xperia X last week and am loving it. Just would like to ask if you can give me any tips as to:

1) How to hide apps in apps drawer?
2) Why can't I use the copy & paste function in Whatsapp?
