How do i (Root and xposed)

Hello I am very new to rooting and have recently decided to root my phone which has been successful most of the time using autoroot and some other odin based injections butthis is not the problem I face, I always seem to either not be able to flash xposed (0 internal memory found while trying to look for exposed zip) or I have once been able to use the zip but it then put my phone into what I assume was a soft lock where it would get stuck on the first boot logo for 10(ish) mins and then go to a pulsing samsung logo and get stuck (I left for 15 mins like this to see if the phone progressed but it did not. would anybody help me with flashing my phone all guides seem to be roots and twrp that doesnt search internal memory or out of date versions of the various tools needed for download.

-I understand it probably something very dumb that im missing that is in a guide that i have passed over and sorry for this oversight
-I also cannot use external memory with twrp as i do not have a micro sd (Is it possible without)
-For clarification phone is Samsung s7 edge / SM-G935F / UK / O2
-I have successfully reset the phone using factory files before
-I understand that using someone advice could break my phone but root and exposed is something i want
